Exhaust Gasket Q - Please Help
Hey ... I'm going to change my header .. from stock 2 dc sport 4-2-1 ... I was wondering if I should change my exhaust gasket ... (I think thats what its called .. ) ... Im gettn new header bolts .. so should I? Does ne one know the cost or part #? ... What should I go for OEM or like Mugen? .. Thanks .. this is for a JDM SIR2 00 Civic Si .. w/ I/H/P ...
do you mean the o-ring collector gasket or the head to manifold gasket?either way i'd say they should be alright considering how new the car is.i'd base it on an inpection once you get them off.
part #3:
18115-P72-003 GASKET, EX. MANIFOLD $8.83
part #20
18229-S01-X11 GASKET, FLEXIBLE EX. (51MM ID.- 64MM OD.) $10.31
i assume your car is a 99 Si?from your post i wasn't sure if you meant you had a swap or not.i looked up a 99 Si,but the parts appear to be for a D-series motor.the O-ring part number should be the same, but the manifold gasket will be different..anyway,this will give you an idea of prices.i used a MrGasket copperseal manifold gasket on my car-cost about $20 and seals perfect.as for supa-mack JDM gaskets....i don't think they're offered.gotta go USDM on this

Im talkn about the like gasket thing .. that is in the middle of the header and the block/head? ... where the bolts go thru ... need help asap
I've reused mine twice and its fine. It's a metal gasket, it'll be allright as long as you dont bash it up taking the old exhaust mani off.
number three in the pic ...... above .. this is a Si .... I put an generic dc style header ... but took that one off 2 .... so this would be the three time using it .... so what is the name of this parts? .....OEM Pt # for 00 Si
okay,i just confirmed the above part number is correct for the B-series motor:
18115-P72-003
i should've realized right off with the P72 part number
anyway, you can get this from an Acura or Honda dealer.you may be able to get it from an auto parts store(Advance,Pep Boys, etc.),but i'm not sure.if you do go to a regular auto parts store, ask for the part from a 94+ integra,as both Advance and Autozone(maybe other)have the 99-00 Civic Si in their computers as having the D-series motor like the rest of the Civic line-so you'll probably get a d-series gasket.
as said above though, the one on there should be okay.

all the B-series exhaust manifold gaskets are the same,so this one will work.keep in mind though that the discount OEM sites list this for under $10($8.83 at Majestic Honda from above)and i'm pretty sure shipping will be cheaper too.the list price for that gasket is $10.90,so you could go to your local Honda dealer and get it for $10.90,plus tax.
