question about ported IM and larger TB

Default question about ported IM and larger TB

just looking for some advice. I have an opportunity to get a fully ported and polished stock IM with a larger TB (72mm). The IM is port matched to the TB as well.

I've been searchin, but haven't found much info on this setup. What I have seen is aftermarket IM's that seem to not produce much gains, and hurt low end torque.

anyone have any experience with this? will I lose any torque? will i gain anything? It's basically a stock h22a, just header and exhaust.... the head hasn't been touched.

also, immediate future plans are to keep it N/A for a while... will a possibility of goin FI in the long future...

keep the stock manifold and keep the cash for some more boltons, or some internals.

doubt it would help you with a stock head, 72mm tb
now if you had bigger cams and some headwork,
that might be a different story

cool...thanks for the replies....

so if i was planning on getting headwork and cams, would having just the IM and TB on stock head now hurt performance? or just wouldn't provide much gains, if any?

also, with all of the above installed (PnP Head and IM, TB, and cams) what gains could be expected, like 25 whp maybe? or lower?

i'm asking all this because i have chance to get the IM and TB for a good price, and I will absolutely make the investment for those now, if there will be a good payoff later.....
