2000 Accord SE throwing CEL w/ 71k miles --- how to check the code?
how do check the code for the 6th gen accords?
wonder what went wrong.
always changed the oil at 3k
recently the weather has been pretty cold
it just all of sudden through off (CEL) in the middle of the freeway, yesterday.

Autozone will pull the code for free (just take it to the dealer). You probably have a P1491 or P0401. Take it to the dealer for the warranty extension on the EGR system. They will replace the EGR valve and drill a larger passage in your intake.
If it doesn't have the EGR code, it could have a tranny code. There is a warranty extension on the transmission, too.
The next mostly likely cause is an EVAP code (P1457, P1456). The bypass solenoid is a common failure...
