can i use this clutch disc with my stock pressure plate and flywheel?
i am bought this ACT clutch here off honda-tech for a good deal and i wanted to know if its ok to use with my stock pressure plate and fly wheel. its a ACT 6 puck unsprung clutch disc i beleive.
I would recomend replacing it all. The weakest point is where it will give (stock parts), then you'll have to take it all apart again. When I replaced my clutch I wanted to do the same thing but after thinking aobut it, it's cheaper just to replace it all when the tranny is off. I'm sure it would work but probably not for long.

True that. Don't know if I could stand dropping the tranny every 2 weeks to throw something new in their. I personally would much rather do it all at once. Oh, and to answer your original question...I would wait til you have everything. Throwout bearing, flywheel, etc.
that clutch is evil... i wouldn't recommend it for daily driving street use. (notice how i said "I" wouldn't recommend it, that means its an opinion, don't attack)
i know its probably gonna be evil. i can tkae it though im a big boy. plus i need i for my power im going to be running. about 450 to the wheels.
anyon in here ever use this clutch using stock pressure plate and fly wheels?
my motor only has 40k miles on it.

If you don't like your flywheel in one piece..then yes otherwise i would reccomend getting a new pressure plate and flywheel

if you do need it for the 400+ to the wheels, then your stock pressure plate will not hold it onto the flywheel, as the pressure plate is the main item that forces the two together... using that clutch with a stock pressure plate is definitely a BAD idea for you. youre better off selling your flywheel (if you have an aftermarket one, I'm guess you do) and using stock flywheel and a much better pressure plate.

I was thinking the same thing...
Just wait until the ACT guy rolls into this thread, he'll explain exactly why what you're thinking of doing is a bad idea, but w/o even thinking about it I think we'd all agree it wouldnt be a smart move.

Why dont you just buy a clutch kit then.
Why dont you just buy a clutch kit then.
cuz if i got the whle kit it wold be like 4-500 bux. i got the race disc for 70 bux shipped and i can get a throw out bearing somewhere else no problem. all i need is a pressure plate.
anyone know wherei can get just teh ACT pressure plate? and how much will it probably be?
