Traction bars and 60ft times !!!!
Hoi,
I have spent over two hours of reading about cross members, traction bars, mostly about jimfab but i still have some questions.
For starters the traction bar is to eliminate wheelhop. But I don’t have wheelhop. Will the traction bar stil help to get my 60ft time down ???
Last november we drove the 1/8 mile and the track was wet and it was raining, but in those condition I do have wheel hop, and a lot by shifting second and third my car was bumping al over the place. Does that mean my car hasn’t enough power for wheelhop in the dry ?
Further I have a 91 civic with a b16a1 swap with place racing mounts, light flwheel, new stock clutch, intake, dc 4-2-1 header, custom exhaust, apex racing suspension, fpr, msd digital 6, cabels, ss blaster coil.
My best 60ft is 2.289 with the jimfab’s can I get the my 60ft to 1.8/1.9 with street tyres ???
Hope some of you can give me some answers

you won't go from a 2.2 to a 1.8. that would take slicks. The traction bars helped make me more consistant for sure, but i dont know about how much they actually bring the 60's down. My best 60' ever i made w/ out the bars even on the car.

That must have been interesting.
That must have been interesting.
I used to pull 2.15-2.20 60 fts and then I added a MB Products traction bar and some adjustable rear shocks and pulled 1.99-2.02 60 fts on Falken Azenis.

when i was N/A with 205/50/15 bridgestone potenza tires i would consistantly cut 2.27 60' times. after i installed my traction bars(i use Z10 bars) and got used to them my 60' times were between 2.08-2.11 consistantly.
Last weekend i ran a 8.6 at 87 mph at a 1/8 mile track and the best i pulled was a 2.1 60 ft. i have a the jimfab. i was pretty suprised but i had crazy wheel hop on nitto 555's the week before that my car was dyno'ed at 260hp/195tq. i know i could get some lower times but i had to go to work.
