I am headed to SD Cali this month. I haven't been home in over 3 years. If my mom's lets me borrow some funds, I would like to purchase an EG, preferably a hatch, as a hatch has been my "dream car" for quite some time now. I just checked out autotrader.com and found that theres a CS hatch selling for $4,195. I checked kbb.com to get an idea as to where I may begin to bargin, and it turns out a 95 "Excllent" condition CX hatch should run about $3,125 with 148,000 miles. The mileage was not given on the CX, but there was a 93 DX with that mileage listed for $3999. What would be a good bargin? Any suggestions, tips, or hints?

 

a good bargain would be anything you can find that is CLEAN. no rust and low miles. usually if you look hard you can get a real nice 92 for like 2000 or something.

 

Got my 130k 94 CX with little rust and no major dents for $2200. Go with a private seller. Then again, that is for all cars.

You will find most EH's have rust on the rear quarter panels, which is no big deal if it's a small size. But don't forget to check under the car, take a look at the suspension. You don't want to have to deal with rusted bolts and such under there.
