I have decided to keep my 99 Si and instead swap in a 99 JDM B18C ITR motor compliments of Brian, b18c1_powered_si. The car is my daily driver, but will see some autocross and drag strips later this year.
The new motor will remain stock for at least 5-6 months while I save up for internal modifications and/ or turbo kit. The only things that will be added to it are my JDM 4-1 header and JUN cam gears to allow for some mild tuning.
Currently I have a Kenji re-progged P28 ECU w/ a Field's VTEC / Fuel controller.
Would it be adequate to keep the P28 and get a VAFC to replace the Field's?? Or should I go Hondata?? If Hondata, which level would suit me best??
Please take into account that cost is somewhat of an issue here. And the motor will remain stock internally for at least 5-6 months.
Anyone running either system, please comment on how it works for you.

Well I have Secret Services near me; John is a licensed Hondata tuner. Can I get more out of Hondata than the VAFC that will justify the higher cost??

yes- even more so when either your motor is built or your turbo'd. you will want it in the future, so you might as well get it now.

The way it sounds your best bet at the moment is do VAFC since you have no internal mods. Once the mods start coming into play or you go turbo then do Hondata. Your gonna love that motor!!!!!!!!!
