do your self a favor and use the search function, located in the upper right hand corner of your screen. It will save you the trouble of being flamed on. Oh yeah welcome to HT.

money is not that much of a matter...and from what ive found the type r would only be arround an extra 800, but Ive also heard that if i plan on upgradin past the engine it would better to do the GSR...

Sounds like you are new to all this...if you are planning on doing mods yourself and learning as you go, get the GSR. If you plan on having a professional hook you up, go with the Arrr....you're in springfield va? Check out B&T Motorsports. Ask for Bill, they hold it down as far as jdm swaps go. My brother got an sr20 swap from them, they've been trying to sell me on a type r swap for my del sol each time I've been up there.

A friend that is knows some about cars told me that its not worth the extra money for type r if your going to upgrade the pistons, cams, etc...just learnin...tnx for any help

exactly. if your going to build a motor, then everything that makes the ITR motors better gets thrown out of the window. Since it seems you want to build up, get a gsr or ls/b20-vtec and have a stab at it.

Search thru the all-motor/forced-induction forums for some tips and to see what other people are having success with...
