SS brakelines for people w/ brake swaps
just thought i'd let you all know that i found a place that has a pretty good deal on SS brakelines for those of us that have brake swaps on our ef's.
i have:
91 civic si
91 civic ex front brakes
93 teg rear lca's w/ disks
i've found it hard to find a place that would make a set like this, and well i think i found a guy on ebay. he quoted me 69+ship for fronts and rears.... not a bad price... i'll include a link to his site and his ebay auction if you want to check it out.... no i'm not getting anything from this other than the brakelines i've been waiting on for over a year, for the cost of 69+ship..... i could never find anyone who just sold fronts or rears, and didn't want to buy a teg set and a civic set then have leftover lines that would take me forever to sell...... if anyones ever had any experiance w/ these guys let me know too.

if you have a crx couldnt you just get a ss brake line set for a 90-91 crx si and if you have a hatch then get a set for a 90-93 teg... correct me if im wrong but i thought this would work... only difference i can think of is that they may not bolt up in the stock location and you would have to ziptie them in some places kinda like some aftermarket struts

just wondering why you put ex front brakes on your si. had you left the si brakes on it you could have just used the steel braided lines from a crx si. the front hoses are the same as the civic si. and the rear lines for a crx si are the same as the rear lines for the integra, so you would have been all set.

This is not true!! I tried to put 90-93 teg rear lines on my 91 Si and they are much too long.

So what would work w/ the sedan though? I see tons of posts about hatchs and rexes but no swaps done on the sedan...so I'm kinda lost....sorry.

so if the rear trailing arms are pretty much the same, and part number for part number aftermarket replacement hoses are the same part number, how is one longer than the other?

i have 91 ex fronts because 91 ex uses bigger rotors and calipers therefore bigger brakes.
car is a hatch not a rex

a teg is quite longer than a crx and is similar in length to a hatch... and if your car is a hatch then use the teg lines... the ex has bigger rotors and calipers but the brake lines are the same

I'm saying kits made for the 90-91 CRX Si is the kit you would use for your setup and would work.

sweet so 90-91 crx si kit will fit hatchback w/ teg rear brakes (beacause there long enough and right threads) and 91 ex front (civics are civics)

Russell braided lines are approx. 22 inches long, tip to tip if that helps. I have yet to install tham, so if anyone has input of these specific lines, IM me yer opinion of them. I would put them on, but its just too nipply outside. I'll see if I can dig up some pics.

I have the same setup as you minus the LCAs and EX fronts. But LCAs should make no difference, and the EX calipers aren't like there going in any different postion than the other car's is. So 90-91 CRX Si (which had rear discs) kit should work just fine.

Threads? You mean for the banjo bolts? All the non-ABS Honda/Acura stuff is the same. I have Integra MC and Booster and rear brakes and all of them bolted up to my Honda Civic stuff just fine.

I only swapped in a 15/16 MC and rear trailing arms from a CRX, would the prop valve help dramatically?
that's all i needed to know, i got the mc/ booster/ prop valve/pads/rotors/es bushings just needed the lines and the ebrake cables, get them next.
(Goodridge)90-91 CRX SI kit will work, gauranteed. I have the EX knuckles, and 93 GSR trailing arms on my civic HB. Lines have been on for a year.
PS. I don't know if I would want to go with anyone but "name brand" on an item like this.
Does the guy make them himself? Or are they manufactured by one of the "name brand" guys...then sold under his name? I would be curious, 'cause $70 is a very good price.

A line with 2 fittings isn't easy to mess up, even if you bought the parts and did it yourself. But on something this important I'd ask the seller.
