Default Best way to silence loud exhaust?

My homeskillet got a ticket for a loud exhaust. Its a CRX with a b16a1, JDM ITR header, no cat, no resonator, 2 1/5 inch custom piping and a skunk2 muffler. Its LOUD AS HELL. Whats the best way to quiet it down. A silencer? A resonator? Or a cherrybomb welded before the muffler? I dont want to lose power, buts its as freakin loud as a open header.

A resonator would make a very noticeable difference. It will kill the "raspy" sound, and give it a deeper tone.

I have the same setup, the only difference is that I have a high flow 2.5" cat.

Get a 2.5" cat so you won't lose airflow and it will quiet it down a bit without losing HP. But my car isn't quiet by any means, you can hear me coming from blocks away, but it is a little quieter with the high flow cat.

try stuffing some steel wool in there..wouldnt that muffle out the sound? but might cause some restriction..

get a glasspack thast the length of your midpipe, also called a "turbo tube" and replace the whole midpipe with one long resonator.

will quiet it down ALOT

I;m surprised at all the wrong information in this thread.

Anyways:

A RESONATOR will solve the sound issues and wont be too restrictive. Thats the purpose of a resonator, it cancels out sound waves based on destructive interfearance inside the pipe.

A muffler would be ideal, but you can only do so much without loosing hp
