No idle when warm
First of all I'd like to say that I searched a few times and haven't found my exact problem listed yet so here goes. I've got an 88 lx. When I first start it, the engine revs to about 2000 rpms, sometimes higher. No I know that this is normal but as soon as the car gets to operating temperature it just dies. No warning just a surge in the rpms and dead. Any ideas? It is very hard to drive this way.
One more while I'm at it. The bar that is connected to the to of the engine and the firewall (torque strut I'm told it's called) moves very easily which in turn lets my engine rock which in turn can break cv axles. Anyways, I've ordered the rubber part (bushing) on the engine side of the bar which is the only one that seems bad. Is there any other mounts I need to know about that break real easy and can cause the engine to move? Thanks for any help.

Turn your headlights on, heh thats my only solution. My old car did the EXACT same thing and if i made sure to turn the headlights on it would be fine. i tried adjusting the idle and i had the carbs adjusted and everything and nothing solved the problem except turning on the headlights.
I had the same problem with my old '88 Accord. It happened twice actually... first time it was a leaking vacuum line. The second time (about a year later) I had to rebuild the carb.
