Had mine in place of the ashtray. Required cutting, but looked clean.

I stuck mine in the glove box, its super easy to get to all I have to do is shift into 2nd hard.

Well here is my DIY custom place for my VAFC, but needs some extra effort to do it this way, cause mine retracts itself and hides when I lay it flat but this gives you an idea

not that clean but it's easy to see since it's angled up a little.

so back to my original questoin.... if i put the VAFC onto of the center console, infront of my clock, would it block detecting the laser, ka, and stuff for my radar detector

 

My friend has his VAFC on the steering column. Everything is seen pretty much straight forward. I mean it is hard to miss it when it is right before the dash.

 

wouldnt that cover the gauges so u cant see how fast you are going?

 

Mine is in the glove box, mounted with velcro. What do I need to see it for?

cause it's real cool. kinda like when you were a kid and played with nitebrite. i don't know. but i dont even have a stand

and it just sits underneath my ashtray the wire runs in between the ashtray and cupholder and it sits nicely once you push it back into the cupholder a little,

and have it wedged on the ledge that drops into the compartment underneath the cupholder. i'm not sure about how understandable that was..

but it requires no cutting.. looks clean, visible, and can also slide it into your compartment underneath the cupholder when you dont want it seen.

Nope u can easily see everything. there is no problem seeing anything

used to have it in my ashtray...it's very clean if you do it right and maybe consider painting it black to match

 

prefer that area.. especially the new black ones.. their soo nice n tight in there

 

 

Little dremmel work and removal of the ashtray, and I put mine where the tray used to be

 

Stick it in the glove box. Nothing like some riceboy gauges pasted all over your car to tell the theives "steal me, I'm modded". Just my .02
