Default seatbelt squeak

Everytime I hit a bump my seatbelt squeaks where it's bolted in the seat. I took it to acura to ask them to lube it but they said they can;t touch it because it's a safety item. Anyone else have this problem0? Can I just put some WD40 on the joint?

I have the same thing going on with my seat belt (For a few months I thought it was the seat itself). That's strange that the dealer would not even try to help fix the problem. Once things warm up again I'll try to find a solution.

I think you'll want to use something more durable than WD40 such as a type of grease. Who knows, maybe WD40 will do the job (probably won't last as long since it's pretty thin).

The dealer said they couldn't touch it unless it because it was a safety item. Unless the belt was not working. but it just squeaks.

If they pulled that line on you then say you want it replaced under Warranty because you no longer trust it to secure you in the event where its needed. See how they like that.

I had the same problem with my stock belt. Big PITA. I used WD40 and it was gone. The squeak was right where the belt bolts to the seat.
