Default Boom without the weight.

I just bought this,

Specs:
10" subwoofer
200 watts rms
12.8 lbs

I used to have a system in my old car and I loved the sound but didnt like the weight. Well This is perfect for me. I dont want something loud enough for other people to hear out side of the car. I just wanted filled out music with the stock stereo thats already in the car.

I was just wondering if anybody else has this setup and their thoughts. I am going to post a whole review and install and post it on my website so stay tuned for that

Back in my Stunna days before the R, i had a nice system in my Civic... two 12" Infinity Perfect subs with about 800 watts. Boy i miss having a good sound system. That setup looks nice with the integrated amp, let us know how your install turns out!

Yep, I had 2 12's in my GSR and it was cool. But thats way too much overkill now. I just want something to make a little bass and not shake the car like the 12's did. I think its a great compromise. Nice fillout bass for $200 its light and takes up no space. I will keep you all posted.

I am just very supprised that nobody with an R has done this yet. (according to zerosearch)

Looks like a nice setup.

I put an 8" self-powered Bazooka Tube in mine -- easily removable for autocross/track days. Adds enough bass for my taste.

i got one of those for my integra as well. like you said, they sound GREAT as long as they are not being asked to "BUMP". although it gets pretty low when certain songs ask it to. it handles tight bass very well. better than my old 12". i have polk components in he front running straight from a PIONEER 840. i have the gain and "bass boost" set in the middle with the cossover set at the highest (so i can have full range conrol from my deck). i mounted mine lying down wiht the speaker facing up, how did u mount yours? also, what exactly is "bass boost" and hows it diferent from gain?

a friend of mine at work has this in a newer celica. He listens to alot of rock, it does a great job of filling in that "ummph" its not overbearing and it has a external crossover on it so be tuned to your liking. a good buy good sound and a space saver.

Reid, Im running on all stockers. I didnt want anything else but
I would upgrade components but I dont think I will need to with this.
They are fine in the "treble" area. I think this will fill in where I need
the midrange and the bass.

I was convinced when I rode in a 04 NSX with a subwoofer and it sounded
awesome with its 10" sub. Then again it does have BOSE components stock

If you get an aftermarket headunit to swap for the stock R one, it makes a world of difference for highs and midrange. I have a pioneer premier in mine right now, and id love to buy some real components and rears, but audio can be just as bad of a money pit as car mods.

I would love too, none have the same interior lighting as the R though. I know the Nakimichi does but I dont feel like spending that much in a CD player. If I were to upgrade for a good price it would atleast have to have a MP3 player

It's nice seeing other R owners actually care about music, I remember someone flaming me because I had some subs in my hatch. Try to mount that sub facing towards the hatch (glass area) it will make it sound much better.

i miss Bass aswell
i had 2 12's in my old accord. i switched them over to my Si and rigged it up so i could take them out with jsut a few wires needing to be unpluged (for track days)
i'm thinking about getting one of these as well. i already upgraded my rear 6&1/2's but that's cuz i get a really good deal on stuff like that

I love all that stuff. I had 2 12's in my old car and while they weren't high quality, I still enjoyed them. Than when I got the R, I bought 2 RF 10's and an RF amp and it sounded damn good. Then those were stolen and I went to a single 10 in a bandpass... sounded decent, but I won't ever get another bandpass. Now I have a single 10 in a sealed box with pioneer HU and speakers all around. I've never had a car sound system sound so good; although for some songs I miss having that really deep bass. I think next time I might go back to having two subs or at least a single 12.

That is a neat little addition though... I would consider it if I hadn't done anything with the sound yet.

Not fan of boom box.
Just enjoy the ride with minimum volume.
