Default MUGEN THIN HEADGASKET---YES OR NO---

What do you think about the mugen headgasket...it is said to raise compression by .2...anyone have it or any feedback...is it worth the money and will the .2 compression make a difference...

yes it works and it is good quality but go with a spoon head gasket they are a little thinner so it allows higher compression. Iam not sure how safe it is being that it is thinner than astock head gasket. Never looked into it.

Go for it! Higher compression is always good!

How safe is it to use the stock headgasket with only 2 layers...How much compression will the stock 2 layer headgasket yield

By raising 0.2 compression , you will see a 2-4 hp gains and 1-2 lbs of torque. If you are replacing some valvetrain components so at the same time why not put it in.

You can achieve the same thing by milling the deck, but it would be cheaper (and you wouldn't have to replace the gasket with a new expensive mugen gasket every time you take your head off.) Maybe you don't take your head off very often, but I do.

you will also be slightly retarding the cam timing by doing either of those, though not very much, it's just something to keep in mind.

just go buy any STOCK Honda head gasket, and remove the middle layer, this is exactly what SPOON does, and should cost ALOT less for the exact same gains in power.

personally i'd never mill the head on my B16...

Seriously? If so, that is a good idea.
