Default jimfab adjustment?

I did a search. I was wondering what is the correct way to adjust them. Car on the ground or in the air? Also not quite sure what it means by preloading them. Thanks.

you need to adjust them on the alignment rack. that way you can see the exact measurements you're trying to get. and when it's on the rack, it's with the wheels on the floor. i'm not sure what the "preloading" is either, i haven't heard of that. my friend got the jimfab for his crx with a b16 and it fit, but you weren't able to put a header on, not enough clearance.

What header were you trying to use? I just bought a Jimfab for my CRX w/ a B16 because I heard it had good header clearance from many other posts. It hasn't arrived yet, but I'm interested to see its fitment when I get the time to install it.

my jimfab cleared my header with a few inches to spare. but you do need to adjust it on an alignment rack, which i might ad is kind of a bitch. not like stock

Preload is sitting the car on the ground before doing the final tightening of the suspension components involved. VERY important to do when it tells you to.

Stock bushings are a good example. They are designed to be in a resting position when the car is still, and twist internally when the suspension moves. If you tighted them down, then set the car, they will twist, then when the suspension moves, they will twist even more and possibly be damaged.

we tried using the dc sports jdm 4-1 which didn't even come close. the we tried a regular dc sports 4-1 which was still pretty far off. we ended up cutting two slices where we needed the gap, rolled the flap, and had it welded so it was still strong. the little gaps were covered up to so no leaks. one more thing we were thinking about. it might be the mount kit we got which could be pushing the motor too far forward. we notice other swaps with real tight im to firewall clearance. we actually got some room.

wait...so the jim fab didn't have enough clearance for the dc jdm 4-1? i thought they said they had made it to clear big headers as well?
