turbo echo?
i was thinking about buying a spare engine for my g/f's scion, i found a used echo engine (same as a scion) and was thinking about buying it, and contacting eagle and arias (or je) and having custom pistons/rods made, but my question is, are the echo blocks resleevable?
anyone ever see a crazy turbo echo or scion with built internals?..
reason for choosing the engine is because i dont want to try and stuff another engine in that small engine bay.. i thought about the matrix or celica engines but they seem wayy too big.. maybe the new 170 hp corolla engine will be smaller in size..

I've seen a Scion Xb at Sac. Raceway that had a torbo on the Scion motor and it ran 15.6's all day long. Which isn't bad since they run 18's stock. I can't remember what shop it was from but Greddy was the turbo they where using if I'm not mistaken because I have an Xb and was seeing if it would be worth it.
I have a ? in our days on installing turbos, we had to lower the compression, change heads gaskets, is the XB made to have a turbo, and can the engine take it. I know on lets say the water cooled vw diesel, that is what we run @ the dry lakes and putting down 65-psi of boost into the head and they have spray bars from the factory and @ the bottom of the engine block spraying oil on the back side of the pistons to keep them cool and non turbos did not have the spray bars. Will the head gasket hold up to a turbo on the XB, and I do have one my self.

yea i know about the turbos.. the thing is its not worth it (for me since its my $) to run 16's or 15's.. miswell run 20's
i wanted to build up the engine to handle high boost to maybe get the car in the 250-275 hp range..
i know its more difficult than a honda because the motor is 105 hp stock so thats more than doube.. i think 15-18 psi on a t3 t4 or t4 would achive this..
im just not familliar with toyota very much and dont know if the blocks are machinable and if they can accept replacment sleeves

The ? that we have to asked our selfs is, do they make a better head gasket to hold up to a turbo, my self what is 9-12 psi of boost lets get it up to 20-25 psi to make is worth something, and if they do not make a GOOOOOOOD head gasket I am Happy with the HP I have now. Good old stock get in turn the key and drive LOL. + 35 miles to the Gallon

Ive seen a turbo Echo when they 1st came out , this dude had one at Nopi , this little thing was pretty sick . low boost he said he was running like mid 13's , i think on street tires too
I turbo'ed my first car which was a stock auto corolla, ran 18.1 stock, with 12psi I got it to run 14.3 stock block.
Man I loved that car. I've scene a few turbo echo's on teh net, pretty quick little ride!
