Im not exactly sure how much the initial fee and install is, but lo jack is as good as how fast the cops and ativate the system. If they take their sweet time to put the stolen report through the system and activate the lo jack then the car will be in parts by that time. Put it is a good idea and I would get it too if I had the R.

$900 is i think for the latest system with the paging device. Dont quote me though, but i made a thread on this a while back with some good info. When i checked then it was $695 installed, but if you knew someone at a dealership that could give you the discount it would be $595 installed. There is no monthly fee, charges ect.... It also raises value of the car, may lower your insurance premuim, and it will give you a piece of mind.

Do a search under my name for the thread, you can also go to thier website for general info.

Dealership offered me $700 for the basic lojack or $1000 for the paging system where they alert you by phone/email/pager anytime your vehicle is moved without the key in the ignition (immobilizers only)...

there's no monthly fee. You should call you local police department to see if they have lojack equip in their vehicles. If they do not then you'd be wasting your money because you won't be able to track the car anyway.

i think you can take car of the monthly fee all at once though, instead of having to pay ANOTHER unwanted monthly bill, pay for a years worth of service.

on another note, i heard you can get computer software that'll let the owners of lojack keep track of where and what the car is doing on his/her own computer?

its a black box with a transmitter. I accidently found mine while removing seats and body panels on the inside. They didn't do a good job of hiding the damn thing on my car.

or you can also look in to GPS tracking system or teletrack .
The only down with either one is that an anual fee is required with both . . .

I had lojack on my Type-R. My car was still stolen and the jackers were able to find where it was; they were able to discard the lojack before it was even activated.
