My ECU is throwing a code 9 so i looked around on honda tech and i was told to a get new distributor. So I went to Continental Acura of Lisle too make sure that i needed a new distributor and they told me the same thing. That same day(i think it was the Dec. 23rd) we had a new Distributor ordered for my R and its still not here so i went back to Acura yesterday and they said that my Distributor is on some back order and the 1st distributor into the country would be mine. Should the wait for a distributor take this long? How much does the whole thing cost cuz Acura charged me $340 for a brand new one.

When my distributor crapped out, I ended up getting one from Len @ Baranco for much less than the dealer wanted. I re-used my ignitor, saving ~$100 too as opposed to getting a fully loaded distributor (assembly, ignitor, cap & rotor). I don't belive I spent more than 210 for my bare distributor.
I know Len isn't selling anymore but others on the board are selling OEM parts at a discount. If you've got to wait because they're on back order, you might as well get it cheaper! Shipping is likely much cheaper than sales tax too.

incorrect. len is still selling parts.. the problem he had at Baranco was apparently resolved.. bert-o can do the same, though..
backorder is backorder though.. unless they happen to have one, they probably can't get it any faster than any other dealer..

I saw Distributor kind and i think they had the obd2 for like 285 if i'm not correct but my dad put just decide to take it to Acura and have them fix the problem. I looked around honda and i saw the distributer off the GS-R and i did post the guy but he never post me back. i thought it was sold already. I don't understand why Acura didn't just replace the cracked rotor. but i guess its best to replace the whole thing to make sure i don't have distributor problems in the future.
