I am going to be putting on a custom 3 inch stainless exhause on my turbo prelude, and i am looking at my options for the muffler and it is very hard to find any attractive ones witha 3" inlet. the ones i have found are the apexi n1, hks carbon fiber, and the blitz nur spec. I have a tanabe racing medalion, and i love it, but i dont think i can find that style with a 3". and i want to stay away from the n1, and even the hks, because i dislike the played out style and the fart like sound. i was also thinking about a dual can system, like the DC sports one for the 2003 civic si's, and i could mod the inlet to a 3". so could anybody help me out with any other ones, or experiences you have had with the above, thanks.
sleeper YO and you cant beat the price..... http://store.summitracing.com/...30330
Installed......
Sounds really good not loud at all, I have a crappy resonator in there too and no cat. Sounds clean.

invidia is supposed to be good and a shop in my area sells them for 150. if it's a straight through design and has a 3 in inlet, all brands would virtually perform the same. they even have ebay one's that run for like 30 bucks.
The borla straight through mufflers are really nice. I have installed a 2.5" before. really awesome construction and super light weight. summit has them, welded seams. i'd get one if it was in the minuscule budget...

I was thinking about getting one of these

Even though it was intended for street use it has found its way to racing events with winning results. " These are used for alot of domestic drag cars. Check out the dimensions:
Inlet Size: 3 Inch Center
Outlet Size: 3 Inch Center
Case Size: 4 X 6 X 12
That's low profile and they flow as well as a straight through muffler.
"Traditional muffler designs remove sound in two ways: friction and absorption. Friction mufflers (stock type, turbo type, chambered) have high back pressure and can cause extreme high resonance and noise inside the vehicle at certain engine speeds (2000 to 3000) RPM.
Absorption (packed mufflers) have a straight through design, they can have good flow but the packing begins to deteriorate and get louder as they wear out, and with modern engines the heat is very high which destroys the packing even quicker.
Spin Tech's patented design provides maximum performance for today's modern engines. Its all done by means of a Spin sound trap, which captures sound vibration (noise) and turns it into heat within the muffler case. As exhaust gases enter they are routed to the spin traps which create a high velocity vortex trapping the sound waves. The extremely high flow rates are achieved by a unique internal scavenging system that creates a venturi effect."

Race officials are frequently requiring mufflers on competition vehicles, more often than not the 95 DB rule is becoming the norm. I know a couple people using 3" Borla XR-1 mufflers and are very happy with them. They give that sleeper look and they have a nice tone also.
Got my 2.5" magnaflow off ebay for 50 or 55 shipped. Let me find the seller cause since I've gotten mine I've also gotten one for my friend.
Well the guy I got it from has up to 2.5" I'm not sure if he does 3" too but here is a link to the exact one I bought.
