Default Skunk2 Manifold questions

alright so im installing it right now, an i have noticed some differences vs, my stock manifold. like the intake air temp sensor is on cylinder 2 instead of cylinder 1 on the skunk2. so my fuel rail when it is bolted down, the FPR is in the way causing several problems. like, the throttle cable bracket i can only get one screw in an i cant even use my IAT cause the FPR is blocking it. anyone know anthing about this? i tried searching several sites an it seems EVERYONE has different pics of the intake manifold. now i got mine used off a b16a2 engine. but when i looked it up the part numbers were the same. any help is appreciated. oh this is going on a b16 SIR motor 88-91

U need a fuel rail off a 94 + teggy. Pretty sure any one of them will work (LS, GSR...). It places the FPR in a different spot.

these are common problems for ef b16. heres a list of things that you should consider when using a skunk2 manifold in a b16 ef.

use type r throttle bracket.
use 94+ teg or 99si fuel rail, have to enlarge the 3 mounting holes. with this rail you can reuse your old FPR
don't use any of the spacers. this way the injectors will seal completely.

just bend the throttle cable bracket up a little and yes 94-up fuel rails have the fpr on the end . i was lucky and had one laying around .

i had to get a AEM rail.... it was the last thing i needed to be able to start it so i relentlessly paid the 130$ as for the throttle cable bracket, just use 1 of the bolt holes (the one closest to the tb) and your b16 bracket... works fine for me, might have to bend it a little.

i just recently installed a skunk2 manifold on my b16 as well. you will need to use a newer b16a fuel rail or an integra fuel rail. As for the throttle cable bracket you can use the one equiped on your stock manifold, just bend it a bit.

Vteckidd by any chance do you have problems starting your car for the first time in the morning? I have to step on the gas for a few seconds than it warms up on its own.

I have a red str fuel rail that I used on my 96 LS swap. My car was stolen so it's just sitting around now. It should bolt up easily. 65 shipped if you're interested.

on the back of the skunk2 mani, where the gold pipe is for the water line, there's another small pipe that sticks out from it.....what goes to that?

i hope you can understand what i'm talking about.

This is due to the fast idle valve being on a 1st gens b16a intake manifold and the skunk2 manifold was designed to work on the newer b16a. To solve this you need a newer b series throttle body with the fast idle valve on the throttle body.

there is a step-by-step guide to put a s2 manifold on a b16 crx in this months issue HCI ( i know! sucky mag,but it was free) they say for a clean bolt-in,use a 99 si throttle cable bracket, any 92-95 b-series fuel rail, and a 99 si intake manifold gasket.

but i belive these guys always go the hard & the expensive way for things.

I've started a page covering my installing a Skunk2 on a GSR and the information there may help. It is VERY preliminary.

I'm using the Skunk2 mani and I ran into the same problems.

Acura Wanted more $$ for a stock gsr fuel rail than for an AEM fuel rail so guess which one I got... AEM.

I also bought an ITR throttle cable bracket and ITR throttle cable. All the problems were solved.
