about a month ago we did a mini-me to my friends 91 Si hatch but havent gotten a chance to hook up the vtec. lately the oil light has been coming on and when you check the oil the level is perfect. he doesnt wanna blow the motor again like he did the last from not haveing enough oil so does anyone have any ideas?? what could cause the light to come on even though theres enough in it??

 

replace the oil press sensor
it might be bad

I would get the pressure checked. Could be a faulty sending unit or it could actually be low. Bad oil pump, worn internals?

 

yea... if i were you check for oil pressure...
thats the best way to know if ur oil pump is priming or not...
also way before u turn engine on, dump the oil, and run a magnet tru it
if u pick metals.. u might have spun a bearing and that shitty metal shaving is clogging ur oil pick up screen and thats maybe why u are not getting fuel pressure

EDIT: prime the oil pump by crankin engine with distribuitor unplugged , that wahy u turn it a lil and u should get about 10 psi oil after like 10 sec of turning engine... that way if it is dry u dont heat the beariings
