Default 14.4 in a LS/VTEC in 91 Rex Si, pretty good?

I don't quite remember the MPH (think its 94MPH) but my friend posted a 14.4 in his CRX on street tires today. I/H/E, cam gears, MSD ignition, Magnecore wires, Apex VAFC. Don't remember if he has anything else. Just wondering if that's a pretty good time slip? That's his best time ever by the way. In my opinion that's a good time slip.

Edited for content.

I think it should run in the 13's, maybe even low 13's......

could just be the timing system on Guam....

Yes that's a good time slip for that application. I have a b18c1 with more than that done to it and I'm only hittin low 13's in mine. So yes by all means it's a good time slip.

I'd be pissed if I spent that much time and effort to be running mid 14s. A new engine, and a grocery list of mods. yeah, I'd be a little ticked.

maybe this was a "pre-tuend" setup? no dyno time yet?

i bet those street tires play alot in his time. are they street slicks or regular all weather tires? and how about that tuning? there was that 4dr teg lsvtec on that mtv street racing special no idea of its times, but it probably ran a 14 or low 13

Yes it's not terrible but I would expect better. My time is in my sig, and that's with a stock 1st Gen B16, just an exhaust and K&N drop-in.

It's all about seat time though. If you don't go to the track often, you probably aren't as good of a driver as you may think. What were your 60' times?

I don't remember the 60ft times but I'll ask and post them ASAP. He knows his car pretty well and is very consitent. His tires are regular street tires (I'll post make too). There is only one dyno available on Guam and it's expensive to run, Plus, depending on what you pay, I don't think your allowed to tune your car.

No way. That 4dr teg on that MTV special was defintly faster then 14's it held up with Greg Leone's S/C nitrous CRX car at the end.

The time sounds pretty solid, though there's probably room for improvement
