Mount kit questions....
How does the newer gen hcp kit compare to the hasport. I can get the newer hcp kit for $200 plus the return of my older gen hcp kit but I want to know if the quality is better than the older gen kit.
Thanks
Kevin

I guess I can let you know in a few days,...when mine finally arrive.
Did you have problems with your older ones?
I ordered mine, because I couldn't find any major complaints about them, and the fourth mount just seemed more sturdy( in theory ). The price didn't hurt either, now I hope they just don't suck....you know, the whole get what you pay for thing.

From my experience, HCP has horrible customer service. And besides that, I've had my Hasport kit for a year without any problems. Gotta recommend Hasport.
Yes I do not like the design of the older kit. Basicaly just stock mounts with adapter plates. Removing the transmission with the motor in the car is a pain in the *** and getting all four mounts to line up is a bit of a challenge. I'm moving my motor over from my hatch to a crx and want a new kit. Basicly I want to know if the hasport kit is worth the extra $250+ compared to the hcp kit. Has anyone tried both of them (hasport and new gen hcp)?
I have the new HCP and love it. You probably caught George at the wrong time to get bad customer service from him. Whenever I call him he has time to chat or handle small problems. He is VERY busy. I think HCP is worth it, I have one of their first production kits and it is fine.

George is a good guy and his staff is good as well. I personally would not run the HAsport in my car for a few reasons: Breaking....turbo car with 3 aluminum mounts,,bad idea.....price..for 250 more than the HCP kits...no....3 mounts..
It does look good and it is light weight.
I have used both HCP and Hasport. They both are very nice kits. I am a HCP dealer. They Hasport kits are nice work, but I dont think that nice for 250 more. The HCP kits are strong, eurathane mounts, and come with 4 mounts. Definately trade your kit in for the new one. I had the old kit, but...sent it back a long time ago and now I am running the HCP new kit.

I did the same thing, but George did not want the old mounts back. Night and day difference, but damm if the vibration didn't come into play. George seems to be a great guy and was a lot of help. But love the hcp kit and would buy it again. Actually Kevin, I am in Orlando, if your bored you can check out my car to compare.
Glad I keep hearing the continued,
revues of the HCP kits
as far as the customer service, they seem busy everytime I call, but if I am willing to be patient( I am ), the guy I keep talking to, will answer my questions.
I don't know if I am talking to the same guy that everyone else keeps mentioning, but I haven't had any problems with them.

I had an older kit as well and I called HCP yesterday and he sent out a new driver side mount and will look into getting me the shift linkage that will allow for a short shifter. The one I got was rivited in.
I bought the new HCP kit and linkage, but I can't say how it is since I won't have the motor for awhile!
I got the EF18-X, the newest model, and it looks like a decent kit. I just couldn't justify the extra $200 for the HASport, especially after asking the same question a few weeks ago .......

From what I have read, and been told, the motor sits farther back toward the firewall. It allows more room for a turbo in front of the motor, and also places the axles at a different pitch than the Hasport kit. I think you use modified 92/93 teg axles with the kit also.
Good luck with the front mount, So far 9 out of 10 people can't make it work.
If you guys want to...I will hook you up if you buy some kits from me:
1-2 kits = 410 +shipping
3-5 kits = 395 +shipping
6 + kits = 380 +shipping
Let me know
