Default d16y8 rocker assembly question

Today during my Crower cam install this morning, i broke one of the tiny (10mm head) bolts at the end of the assembly (cam-end cap), one near the cam gear end, the ones that are torqued to 9lbs. I drove for a while w/o it (20 miles), however, it was bothering me, so i tried to ez-out ot no avail, so i drilled it, a little crooked, then tapped it, and threw a bolt in, and torqued it with a dab of threadlock. Am i going overboard here? I am so ****, i was going to remove the assembly, get the spot welded on the head, then drill/tap a new hole. There are 10 other bolts across the assembly 12mm, then 2 of these lil f*ckers at each end.

I don't think you are going overboard. If Honda intended your car to be run all the time without that bolt it wouldn't be there.
