My car has been acting a little jumpy over 7,000rpms. I have been told that it is most likely misfiring. I drive my R pretty hard, but nothing out of the ordinary compared to other R owners. Is this too early to be changing the plugs? Are GSR and Type-R plugs the same?
GSR and Type R plugs are not the same. The Type R uses NGK "R" platinum plugs that are $17.90 each! Plug wires are interchangeable. You can score a new set of plug wires from Acura for $59.00.

H-Pimp: Last I checked, my GS-R also came with NGK "R" (I've never seen a NGK plug with out the R btw..) plats.. the b18b used copper plugs though. not saying they are the same plug, cause they might be different, but post the plug model number/part number and we'll see.
The 98 Helms Manual lists the same Part number for the ITR and GSR spark plugs, but that didn't match what came out of my car. I ordered OEM replacements from Naples Acura too and got the same ones that were in the car (read: not what was listed in the Helms manual).
I'm a little confused on this too, but would just use the ITR spark plug just in case. I, of course, don't remember what either of those part numbers are off the top of my head.
