I dont think this has been posted before/recently, so here goes, i could sure use some help.

I have a skunk2 short shifter on my 90 crx si, and I am having problems with it rattling against the midpipe of my exhaust (2.25") does anyone know how to fix this? I had my exhuast shop rehang it a little but lower, but it still does it. it only does it at about 2000 rpm's or so, but it is extremely annoying. anyone know any fixes for this? Thanks!

My short shifter was hitting that "weight thing" or whatever it is that is at the end of the shift linkage. I just cut that piece of nonsense off with my dremel and it does not rattle/hit anymore.

you can also try to tighten thos exhaust bolts up. My bolts that held the cat and the downpipe together was loose before. That cause the exhasut to rattle, whcih in turn caused the whole car to shake and rattle. Felt fine after I tightened the up and used some loctite

 

If you wanna take a picture of the underside of your shift linkage and exhaust, I'm sure I could devise a way to fix it.

 

My friend put a Ractive short throw in his '96 EX he had to cut the little counter-wieght thing on the end of the shifter. I cannot fathom anything else being an issue.
