mini me head gasket nightmare.....any help is appreciated
so my mini me turbo is overheating i eliminate the cause down to a headgasket. I get a new y8 oem gasket and oem bolts along with getting my head milled true. I just finished putting everything back on and started it up. radiator fluid is bubbling out of the cap and the engine is running worse than it was before. any ideas, should i retorque the head bolts? is there a possiblity that my block was warped? I'm so frustrated.....you guys feel me?
thanks for the help or even consolation

i let it idle for about 20 min while it came up to temp. it didn't overheat but i was seeing the same symptoms as before with the bubbles in the radiator. actually, i was going to leave the rad cap off to bleed the system, is this the correct way? i have also heard of something with the thermostat....some bleed valve in that housing. do you know anything about this?
see where your upper radiator hose hooks up? It's that weird looking thing that kind looks like a bleed valve on a brake caliper, you need a 12mm wrench to open it and dont unscrew it all the way, i'll post a pic
thanks sideout, i really appreciate your help plus the picture. i was lost as where to look. I have a 2000 civic ex head, it didn't have a bleed screw on the upper radator hose. I think i'm going to try and retorque the headbolts. hopefully something will come out of this.
Did you think of cracked block or head or head gasket installed upside down or clogged radiator. How did you narrow it down to head gasket problem

If the rad cap is off and you are getting coolant overspilling and bubbling out you have air in the system. Since you dont have a bleeder you can do one of 2 things. Fill up the rad like normal then overfill the overflow a bit and you should be good to go. The other method involves going to an auto parts store and getting a funnel made to bleed off the cooling system. The funnel uses a cheap little drilled out rad cap that allows coolant to bubble as the car is running, eliminating the air. Hopefully I didnt confuse you but if you need anything PM me. Good luck!!
You can also while the car is running squeeze the upper radiator hose. Also make sure that the heat is on after the car comes up to temperature.
