went to install a radio into a friends 90 accord lx and am running into a bit of chassis wiring difficulties. Everything i will will describe happened before and after the radio install, so i can rule out the new stereo effecting anything. the car also came with an aftermarket alarm.

first things first the radio will not work, the old one didnt and the new one did not fix the problem. Now when the key is turned to the on or second position the interior dash lights blink (not on and off but from dim to bright) and it makes the sound like the hazard lights are on. i replaced all fuses that are involved with the radio. The rear defroster and interior overhead light both do not work. all fuses are fine.

has anyone had a problem like this....just wondering and hoping someone can save me some time so i dont have to check every wire in the car...

u sure u checked all the fuses??? does the cig adapter have any power or is that out too??? the cig and radio are on the same fuse under the dash that i didnt know was out for a while

 

did you have an adapter harness or did you have to hard wire into the factory wiring? Sounds like you have connected the Illumination wire to a power source (like a speaker out put 12-volt or remote turn on). Also a bad speakers can also be another why the raido does not work.
