turbo question
i'm sure that this will sound incredibly idiotic to some of you, but i have a quick question about putting a turbo on my integra...
i have a friend how used to work on cars and **** and he has a couple turbos that just need rebuilding. he has a mitsubishi one that will fit on my car and he wants to put it on. what all do i need to get besides the actual turbo? he keeps telling me that i need a "turbo header" but i don't really know what that is...i mean, yea, i know what a regular engine header is, but not a turbo header...
so i guess just let me know what that part is, and then any other stuff that i would need to get on my own. thanks for the help

You need a lot more then just a "turbo header"...
You'll be looking in the ballpark of 2,500-3,000 dollars for a pieced together setup. You need engine management, Manifold, Turbo, Fuel Pump, Intercooler, Oil fittement lines, Injectors, etc.....
search through the forced induction forum and learn some things.

If you only know two parts of a turbo setup, I suggest you either get a pre-fab kit, or don't boost at all til' you learn some more about forced induction. you can seriosuly **** your motor up if you don't know what you're doing. good luck

go to drag's or revhard's website (they make turbo kits) and see what they put in their kits for starters. they don't necessarily use the best brands available, but you'll get an idea of what's involved!

no, it wasn't that i didn't know everything that is involved (i do know what all the parts are)...i just didn't know what was meant by a turbo header...but now that i know that what he meant was a new intake manifold, it makes more sense. thanks guys.

LoL you still dont know, it took me at least 7 months to research everything necessary before jumping on a turbo, however I believe buying a complete kit is the best way to learn if you are not familiar with turbos
