Default Overheating problem

i have a 99' civic dx, i had a tranny swap done about 4-5 months already. well i noticed recently that my car overheating once in awhile. I dunno where to even start to trouble shoot this problem. i know for a fact the fan n radiator is still good. I think its just not getting a signal, so i checked the fuse underneath the hood, and the 20 amp fuse is ok. But just the other night i was re-adjusting my clutch pedal, n noticed that there was a blown fuse underneath the steering wheel area, it's like the 2nd row n towards the middle. And it is a 7.5 amp fuse, could that be the fuse for the fan also??? any suggestions??? thanks

7.5A fuse on the 2nd row (the bottom row) is the fuse for your dome light. There are no fuse that controls the radiator in your underdash fusebox.

Have you tried checking your radiator cap? Last time my car overheated was pinpointed to an overpressured radiator cap. The cap itself, not the radiator.

Could be a number of things..

-When you did your tranny swap was it auto/manual? If it was, could be a leaky plug for your radiator.
-Stuck thermostat
-Temp Sending Unit is bad
-Water Pump is shot
-Leaky hose
-Bad head gasket...and so on.

There is a fuse under the hood for your cooling system, switch that relay out with your rear defroster.

yes it was from auto/manual. the fan isn't spinning when it suppose to. For instance, when i switch on the A/C, i can hear like a couple clicky noise, sounding like the fan wants to switch on, but i don't knoe what's holdin' it back. btw the car is still running on the dx's auto wire harness.

The fan kicks on when the temp OR coolant level reaches a certain point. Check your realy fuse under the hood, also check to see if your fan is getting power by using a test light. If these seem fine, its probably your sending unit or thermostat.

have a damn O.H. prob too and it seems to be the head-gasket for me
well on the first of this year, I grew the ***** and did the replacement myself, but got the same results.
1. did a crappy job of the replacement, or
2. got a cracked block
hopefully 3. something else.

i had the same problem in my del sol and i tried a couple of things. the first was to replace the fan switch... another way you can do that is put a constant power wire to the switch and have it run all the time and see if you still over heat. but for me it want the fan switch it was the thermostat. it was going bad and crap so i replaced it.

Check your antifreeze for oil and vice versa if you find oil in the antifreeze or antifreeze in the oil then the head gasket is blown......probably thermostat though or some kinda blockage in the flow...
shouldnt be a fuse.........

Yea i tested the cooling fan's fuse under the hood, test the fan itself w/ a test light and spins! My car O/H when im at idle and from that point foward it o/h whenever im driving. My coolant level is fine, just can't think of a thing. im hoping its not a blown head gasket. by the way, how can u tell if u have a blown headgasket anyway?? thanks for the help guys.

Ive seen this (or similar) problem twice with two of my family cars and both times it has been a stuck thermostat... i would check that, its fairly easy to replace.

Does your cooling fan turn on when your car starts to overheat, cuz i did use to have a problem with my car overheating, the fan wasn't turning on and i've changed the thermostat and cooling fan, found out that wasn't the problem but then i found out that one of my sensors were bad, it's was the sensor by the thermostat, cuz i found out i had 2 sensors on my car that controlled the fan and it wasn't the one in the front
