Default valve adj.. now problem, help appreciated..

hey guys i just did a valve adj on moms 92 accord ex.. when i started, it seems that the clearance were too tight.. so i redid all of them.. .010 intake ane .012 on exaust. now i could hear the rattle more than ever..

i redid it again, all inspecs.. any insight? is it because who ever did it before; left too little clearance and that is why it is worse now???

thanks a bundle.

Either you did it wrong, or at the "correct" setting, you engine has enough wear to tick, even though correctly adjusted. The dealer did mine, and now they tick more than they used to, but mines a 94. How many miles you have on the 92? use any oil? I only have 130K and use no oil at all and I still tick...

if my mom planning to keep it longer i would rather swap out a new block.

i sure i did the job right..i normally work on eg's etc.. and did a few valve adj..

by tick, I was refering to your "rattle" and I was wondering if you were using oil because a low oil level could account for wear, thus producing the "rattle" in the valves.
