Default clutch or actual transmission problem?

first off i have a 94 gsr. it has 96,000 miles. bought it a year ago at 91,000 miles. when i bought it the previous owner told me the clutch was new. it was my first time purchsing a manual so i had a friend who knows his stuff test drive the car and he said it feels like a new clutch. fastfoward to today. my car idles high around 2.5-3k. the idle also bounces from 1k-3k all the time. the past week i've been noticing the clutch feel has been softenindo was grind gears. mind u my car is reving at about 2.5-3k. so i shut off my put in reverse and start my car. reverse works fine just won't come out of reverse. again i turn off my car and put it in first. then i turn my car on and start heading off to work when i notice i can't go into second or any other gear for that matter. my clutch has no resistence to it at all. i have to put the clutch to the ground to see if it goes into gear but nothing. so i turn off my car put it in first and head home. i checked the clutch resovior. it was a lil bit low so i but in some brake fluid. still didn't work. now i'm left wondering if it's a new clutch that i need or is there a problem with my tranny. any help will be greatly apprectiated.

the revving thing is your idle air control valve

yep, the idle has nothing to do with your clutch. if you wanna see if your clutch is gone, (if you can) then drive in like 3rd to 40 mph, shift to 5 and floor it.
if your rpm climbs then falls, slipping clutch. if it doenst, then clutch is fine.

i just fiished chaning my oil. my clutch has absoluetly no resistence now. there's no firm feel to it. so what is exactley that i need to buy to replace the clutch resovior. also is it easy to replace as if i could do it by myselfif the proper instructions were give to me.

not being able to put it in gear
and having to shut it off to put it in gear sounds like a clutch problem

i had silmilar issues

my pressure plate broke

if the engine is off will it go into every gear just fine?
if so ...sounds like clutch issue

mine did the same. spring broke off the hub...could be your clutch. good luck
your idle from 1-3k could be your fitv.
