I think it can turn out to be a highly competitive vehicle. Tom Lepper races his hybrid Accord in the USTCC and if I'm not mistaken, placed very highly in the championship.
I don't think it'll ever be a frontrunner. You simply can't get it light enough even with the added power (at least you can't do so legally as far as I can tell). And then the wheelbase is long and the aero might not quite be ideal.
The EF and EG hybrids thus far are the proven platforms in H1. Which was by design - we saw by far more of these kinds of cars than any other hybrid. I suggest you hesitate from building something nobody's done before simply because developing it will be expensive and time consuming. You *might* come up with a winner...but whos to say?

If the HC was full of pro drivers who are able to get 100% out of the cars and setup, then I would say anything other then a small CRX or Civic Hatch would be at a disadvantage.
The reality is HC is very much an amateur series and any car with the right driver can be a potential winner. Bring whatcha got.

where did aero become a disadvantage in a 4-door, especially when it has the same front end as the hatches and coupes?
not to mention the higher torque of the h22/3 coming on sooner than the smaller b and d series, also wheelbase being long would smoothe out the turn in, not necessarily turn better, but maybe able to hold decreasing radius turns longer and possibly better

Your disadvantage, if any, will come in less favorable weight distribution. An EG sedan will be able to make the minimum weight though.
But as mentioned earlier everyone is an amateur. If you are a good driver with a good car you can win with almost any car and engine combination. But it sems some guys are stepping it up a notch and we will see faster lap times across the board. All it will take is one good driver with a well developed, powerful car and the current WC H1 field will be destroyed.

I thought the Accord (as in the late 80s LXi) had a higher coefficient drag than the Civic/CRX (4th gen) - thought this was Karl's reference (actually, I don't know my EF/EG/Ex so maybe he's not referring to that). It probably is better than the later Civics. I could be wrong but I would guess that the Accord is taller than a Civic/CRX and again would guess the 4 door would be taller than the 2 door version (I don't know though).

Hasport brought out an H22 powered sedan (3rd gen Teg) to a couple of WCHC events. It pulled good but it didn't seem to want to turn. Bernardo M was driving it and setting it up. He's thought to be the best Honda driver/tuner in So. Cal. But they never spent the time to really get it dialed in. I believe that Hasport is now finishing up all their K series swap mounts. If they bring it out this with K power it should be the car to beat*.
I think an H22 sedan would be competitive. Just be ready for the extra set up work. But as the others have said a B series dropped into an EG or EF hatch is the easy way to go fast right away. 500 something Lbs front, 700 something Lbs rear, stock front bar, fat rear bar, any good shocks, done deal.

I am assuming EG style sedan ? In this case companies like Spoon and Primo tune have had very sucessful Touring campains with them. Some cars such as the E35 are said to be better chasis wise then the coupe. I really comes into play then which way you build and drive it.
