failed smog

Default failed smog

so i tried to have my stock dx smogged and failed
%co2 %02 hc(ppm) co(%) no(ppm)
test rpm meas meas max ave meas max ave meas max ave meas results
15mph 14.6 0.6 142 31 73 0.86 0.10 0.17 873 237 1583 FAIL
25mph 14.8 0.1 117 20 39 0.76 0.09 0.09 812 199 1557 FAIL

any ideas what causes NO # to be so high like that! thanks

a lean mixture would cause your NOX to sky rocket like that. basicly hot combustion temperature causes high Nox.

thats pretty much it, thats why i failed smog, havent tried it again since the new motor, but just dont even care anymore, i couldnt figure out how i got such high nox but oh well

i failed with high nox on my 88 dx. changed the cat since it was original and ran some fuel system cleaner (to clean carbon out) and it passed.

25mph 15.0 0.0 117 20 10 0.76 0.09 0.00 812 199 0 PASS
just put 99 civic si cat in
