Can I use a D16Z6 clutch instead of a D16A6 clutch w/ my Y3 tranny?
yes. D16Z6 and D16A6/D15 clutches are all the same, provided you have an 89+ transmission.
the only difference lies in the throwout bearing. the 89-91 & 92+ throwout bearings are different

the 92+ throwout bearing, you know the part where it hooks to the little fork thing that hooks onto the clutch arm axle thing (im kind of rusty on terminology heh), well, on 92+, the receiving parts of the throwoutbearing are about 3cm too wide to fit.. its kind of hard to describe, but trust me on this.
I bought a 92 D16Z6 clutch kit for my 91 L3 Si tranny, the clutch and pressure plate lined right up, but the throw out bearing does not work. I still have it sitting in my drawer, its too bad becuase i had to reuse my old one and it was going bad
