Default Dumping the turbo project what motor should I get???

Dumping the turbo, what motor should I toss in the 00 Si? I am tired of not being able to drive my car because it is down or needs tuned because f the weather. I need it to drive to work (50 miles) every day. I am thinking about the b18c5 becaus it has great power, revs to the moon and is still docile enough for a street car. What do you think?

Really if you want to build, a b18c1 is a great motor to build off of. Also is the C5. But the C1 is cheaper. If you want to build it C1. If you want to just do a pretty mild set up I would go C5. Like i said the only reason i say the c1 is to save you money.

Go with a LS/Vtec or CRVtec set up in your SI. As a matter of fact, go ls vtec because an b20 block is the same as a LS block with the only difference of having a 84mm piston bore over the LS's 81mm bore. Go with USDM ITR Pistons, you can use stock LS rods, ARP Head Bolts and ARP Connecting Rod Bolts. Get a OBD2 to OBD1 Harness and run a chipped OBD1 P28 Ecu with a ITR Intake Manifold or Skunk2 Intake Manifold. Of course you know to use an AEM Intake (Cold Air Intake w/ bypass valve or my choice, the new AEM V2 Intake, Run Header Tech Headers, DC Headers, JUN headers or anything of your choice. As far as exhaust, go with what you like, I like Apexi N1 but you may be a Greddy EVO type of guy. Get a B&M FPR w/ gauge, throw in some gauges, skunk2 cam gears, a vafc and get some tuning done. If you want to get cams, run some skunk2 or portflow valve springs with titanium retainers. Run Skunk2 stage 2 cams or my choice jdm civic type r cams. I hope this helps. When that car is tuned, it should make some impressive power.

either put in some oil squirters...if you stay with hyperutecnic pistons..or toss in some forged pistons and you'll be fine

you allready have a vtec head...now just try to trade your bottom end for someone's LS shortblock and you're most of the way there

I don't know man, no one around here seems to be able to build a strong LS/VTEC motor around here. If I went with an R motor, with some Toda B's and revved to 9k what would the power output be compared to a ls/vtec?

um, how bout 240whp...stock sleeves..12.5:1 compression, LS/vtec?

LS/vtec will make more power...it has more cubes.

http://www.hondaraceengines.com....there ya go....all ya need

btw, I have a 96 spec R in my hatch...and we're in the process of building it into a fast street car....and it's either getting an LS crank...or an LS block
