I will get on the gas a little ,but when I come to a stop. I smell this horrible smell through my a/c vents. Right now I have the heat on cause it is a little cold here. I do not know if it because my heater is on. Same thing happen when i have the outside air coming in through the vents without a/c. Can anyone help me solve my problem.

i got rotten egg smell ! only when heaters on. i suspected it was coolant as it started only after i blew a head gasket and my engine filled with coolant. no idea how that woudl affect it but all of a sudden, poof. egg smel.. maybe the cat?

 

Well I do not have a cat. I got it cut off and just running full 3" exhaust. Not like a rotten egg but like a strong brunt smell. I looked in my engine bay nothing looks like it been baked.

 

well the fact you have no cat can be worse than a cat going bad it does the same thing, only worse... cars come with cats for a reason (a few reasons actually)

 

I took the cat off for no back pressure with my turbo. I am guess maybe the smell is from there. Thanks everyoen

 

may be ur brakes from getting on the gas to much and coming to stops... or it could be ur clutch..

i get a weird smell, too. but it sound like detonation if anything, since i have fuel issues.

anything unusual about how your car runs besides the smell?

 

mine smells like hot coolant
