ported head now having idle problems.
i ported my head myself and after reassembling the engine i am having serious problems. my idle is at 2000 rpm or higher and i cant seem to find the trouble. is this a common occurance or what . any help would be greatly appreciated. as always thanks.
p&p doesnt affect idle at all. i would check other things. vacuum lines, idle control, and make sure all connections are ok.

Yup. Make sure they are all connected correctly and the timing is dead on.

Thanks for all the help guys. here is the deal it was a broken junk autozone pcv valve. but i thought it might be sensors before i posted and mixed them up thinking they were wrong. i realized it was vacuum problems when i unhooked the iac valve and the engine idled very well. so i knew then that it was getting air to run from the vacuum lime. i also got some help from INVTEC on this board who suggested that i had a massive vacuum leak and told me what rpms i was running and why they would suggest that particular problem. all advice given was helpful thanks. i would also like to say that i searched through over a hundred threads of a similar nature and could have been helped there if the poster needing the help told everybody how the problem was solved. most did not it ended with another members suggestions and no correspondence from the poster that was very frustrating and a kick in the *** to all the people who generously jumped in to help. i apreciate your help very much as thinking my car was fucked severely traumatized me.....
