Sorry to bring this up from the dead.

Had one question. How much diffrence in is there between the CM stage 3 and 4 clutches? Im concerned about pedal feel and harsh engagement. Thx

pedal feel is real stiff with my CM stage 3 clutch,..and the stage 4 was about the same,..and engagement is somewhat harsh,..when on the track,..if my climate control isnt bolted down,..that bastard will fly right out when shifting,...it sends a "boom" to the car when shifting,..i dont know how to explain it

Almost ever other person who has driven the CM Stage 3 has said pedal firmness is close to stock. And you say its much stiffer.

The stage 3 will be more practical for daily driving I have had mine for about 60k and it needs to be replaced but still grabs hard. The disc has a really hard engagement if worn in properly otherwise the **** wont engage right at all if you **** up and start f&f shifting as soon as you install it.

Put a good oil change worth of miles on it before you seriously start to beat on it and trust me the rewards will be awesome.

I can chirp up to third gear with my bridgestone potenze re010's on my 16x7 ukdm itr wheels and when I had my 15 inch ls wheels I could bark it up to 5 gear or have the wheels break loose while the car was moving (stupid lol).

The stage four imo is juts a little too agressive and overdone for a car thats not pushing out 350+ hp.

If you can get those numbers on your daily driver then you are the man but I can tell you that with the spoon flywheel and my worn clutchmasters my car damn near stalls all the time in stop and go traffic because the flywheel is so light and because the clutch engages agressively.

IN SHORT
GET A STAGE 3 INSTEAD

Your crank, engine mounts, and engine seals will thank you later.

My stage 3 alone destroyed my ac mount and my driver side mount (ripped clean out and snapped one of the two bolts on the driver side upper mount)

No its stiffer, some people have stiffer clutches some people dont and that mainly has to do with your helper spring being worn.

My clutch is just as stiff as it was when I bought it but when I drive any other si the pedal feel is completely wimpy.

I plan on pushing 400whp which will be at least 300ft/lbs of torque to the wheels. I need a clutch that can hold that much power without being obnoxious on the street.

If you are going to be making that much power, go with Stage 4. I don't think the 3 can hold it...at least not in an economical standpoint. My motor is being put in as we speak and it'll have a 4 on it. If I remember, I'll post up my thoughts on the actual drive.

I came to like my clutch master stg4 clutch, after I fixed my IACV , it mad it hard to engage because of the buck that it caused, now it engages alot better, and I love it, when shifting fast it grabs , its not bad at all for daily driving , just bleed it to where you like the feel of the clutch, thats what I did

How does the CM Stage 4 compare to the ACT XTR6? In terms of driveability, harshness and modulation. I know both can hold the power well. I thought 6 pucks were smoother than 4 (like the CM Stg4) however most are saying the CM Stg4 is easier to drive in traffic.

I too thought the 6 puck would be smoother than the 4 but after driving my car. I love it. IMO, the 4 has near stock pedal pressure and engages much smoother than my 6 puck sprung from clutch specialties.

Awsome clutch and really easy to get used to. Little stiff but nothing you can't handle if you aren't a complete *****. Grabs hard as hell. If you don't bring the revs up a little when shifting from higher RPMs that one dude is right it will really bang into gear hard.

So whats your new clutch going to be?

All the CM haters love ACT but there are plenty of busted ACT threads too. So its still a toss up for me.

That maybe true but it certainly doesnt explain why a 4 puck clutch explodes when only holding ~140ft/lbs of torque...
