What is this and why isn't it hooked up?
I was cleaning my car and engine today and noticed this, looks like a heater return line or something....but what does it do and why isn't it hooked up? And this is on the passenger side of the car by the firewall.
And lastly, which one is my IACV, looking around and looked in my Chiltons no dice:
Thanks for the help

Does that hose have a clamp on it? Towards the bottom of the firewall? It's most likely the A/C evaporator drain tube, which just lets the water from the evaporator drain out onto the ground
Its at the bottom of the firewall on the passenger side, and I didn't see any clamps or hoses to where this may or may not lead
Its A/C Evaporator Tube for sure.
evaporator is used to turn that liquid refrigerant into a vapor, allowing it to absorb heat and carry it away from the cabin .. the tube is to drain excess water from evaporator.

So its supposed to just sit there and spill over excess coolant? Or should a line be running to/from it? And on the 3rd pic...which one is it or am I just plain dumb? (that ? was retorical)
It doesn't spill coolant, it's just plain water.... and yes, it's supposed to drain right out onto the ground. Exactly the same way a room air conditioner or de-humidifier in your house works. The water is formed by condensation from when warm air passes over a really really cold evaporator core... same way a cold drink will "sweat" when it's warm out and make the outside of the glass all wet. The water has to drain out or the evaporator will turn into one big ice block, LOL

I knew the a/c systems were kinda the same, I just saw an open line and my jaw dropped......thank you, and what about the 3rd pic with the IACV any suggestions?
