AEM CAI in 96 hatch with an ARRrR
i just got a cold air intake for an ITR since thats the motor i have swapped into my 96 hatch. I understand i have to cut a part of the pipe i believe to make it fit correctly.
Can someone help me out here. It looks like a real tight fit.
btw my swap also has AC if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance

Should'nt have to cut anything to make it fit. I know on my D series it fit fine and their intake manifolds are in a similar position. You aernt going to run it down in the hole that our hatches don't have (that you would have to cut to run an EX cai in our car). It's run down inbetween the tranny and the radiator.

The filter ends up back in the fenderwell under the safety of the splash sheild. The piping just runs down that way.

I know on my EG it was a VERY tight fit between the passenger motor mount and the coolant overflow bottle. The filter location also caused my fenderwell to bulge. I didn't modify the intake at all other then chopping off the mounting bracket since there was no place to use it.

Forgot about the overflow tank. I used a couple washers and slid it over a little bit. But yes, you do have to move that a bit in an EK.

My buddies and I just finished a JDM ITR swap in a 96 Civic Coupe and the AEM ITR he bought for it, fit fine. It is a tight fit, and it takes a little manuvering (especially if it is a one piece), but it will work. I agree about moving the overflow bottle a little will help. Anyone have any pics for him.
