Default wings west question

Simple question for you guys who own or know about this kit. How do the side door panels actually attatch to the door? Clips in the molding holes or what? Thanks in advance.

you can do that. I had the body shop use a rivet type of stud to hold it up for more support towards the front fender. Then they shaved the stud smooth

I downloaded the PDF file from Wings West, and it said to used double sided tape. I'll probably use double sided tape, and lots of it.

Most common would probably be double sided tape, but I wouldn't do it that way personally. When I had a CRX with that kit, I used tape to center it, but the body shop that I had my car painted at, used a strong epoxy, along with screws from the inside of the door outward, through the 4 corners of the door caps. That's when they were only offered in fiberglass, I'm sure everyone is using the urethane version now.

true i have the newer urethane kit on my car, it has double sided tape on them, but it came up in one area on the door and was wondering what I should do. I think that I will go get some super epoxy from the hardware store.

thanks

the way i did it was with super fast urathane. same stuff that holds your windshield on, and it is less likely to peel off the surface taht it is adheard to (unlike epoxy).... screws are a surefire way to make sure it never goes anywhere.

as for the bumper by itself... if money is to big of an issure to go for the full kit... buy a jdm conversion off http://www.hmotorsonline.com

Real good silicone will work as well. Have it done on one of my hondas kits and the side skirts have never come loose even when slightly flexed for a period of time on a lift.

How does the rest of the WW kit fit on your ride...I'm seriously thinking about getting one for my very naked rebuild project REX.

Let's say, I decided to use screws, all I would have to do is drill through the door and into the door cap?? Or is the door cap to thin to put a srew in?

i know, the shitbox hatch is my daily driver/winterbeater. i ripped the door pieces off because they kept catching on my front fenders in the cold weather and were getting all fucked up. at one point i thought about putting them back on, then i said **** it, now i just aim the car towards large snowbanks and slam into everything i possibly can. its quite fun actually. at one point i actually thought about getting the body fixed up and painting it, but id rather just slowly destroy the thing until its completely undriveable.

Double sided tape

Call up a body shop and ask about getting them fused on. Fusing will hold longer than you'll have the car. And you'll never have to worry about them sagging.

As long as you have the WW urethane kit, 3M tape . Had mine on for about 4-5 years, in the first year I had the same problem on the drivers side cap the tape wanted to pull away a little. I went through the complete disaster of taking it off and reinstalling new tape, after I took a heat gun and formed it to the door where it pulled off. That kit sucks for black cars, the bumper curls on me alot in the summer. Whatever, I wouldn't want a Fiberglass one at all, my freinds doorcap flew off on the freeway once. I'd also avoid riveting or drilling if the car is actually worth something.

But what if you wanted to screw them in, how would one go about doing this? Would I just take a screw and drill through the door till I hit the door cap? What size screw? Are there any other "screw" accessories that I need if I wanted to screw it in besides the screws?

Whoa! I just said screw 5 times...LoL~
