hey im thinking about buyin a gsr this summer...i already searched and couldnt find the answer i was looking for...i want to kno your guys opinions on wether i should go all motor or turbo...i want to make around 250-300hp...it will be my first car and i dont want somethin thats too much for me to handle since its my first..
Choose what you want to do with the car for sure. Don't back track like probablly half of us have. Do it right the first time. But you will always want what you can't have.

what he said...if not longer. And i'm not talking about granny driving either. No substitute for experience and learning your car.

since it's your first car... honeslty I think you should go with N/A.
A turbo setup might be too much for you to handle with the general maintaince and stuff like that.
for Ellicott City **** Got hella family up there. hit me up I'll come fix your car on my vacation! lol

learn how to drive the damn car first. Go auto-x for a few events, then go to a car control clinic. Those will allow you to get a feel for your car and will show you how to really control it in a controlled environment. Don't try to test the limits of your car out on the streets. After that, upgrade your tires with some good quality rubber, then upgrade the suspension with good shocks, springs, and a rear sway bar, then your brakes with new pads and new fluid. Then go to the auto-x's again and the car control clinic again. Then you will should know how to control that car. Hell, I've been driving my car for 2 years at auto-x's and lapping days, and I STILL haven't found the limits of my car. My friend has been racing for the last 8 years, and he just figured out how to REALLY drive the car.
After you know how to control that thing, get your power to the ground better via a clutch upgrade and an LSD. Once you've done that, maybe you're ready for another 150 hp.
And I will stress this one last time. Learn how to drive a stock gsr first. It's more than enough car for a beginner. They have enough power to get you into a lot of trouble. Know and learn how to get yourself out of it.

I agree with garados. Even if it's not your first car you should learn something about it before you do such a heavy mod like turbo.
Upgrade the suspension and all the other stuff in the handling department first. You will like the car more if it can handle well. It will also give you time to find out what you like most about the car and build on that.

if i go with:
-ITR .25mm pistons
-skunk2 stage 1 cam shafts
-TODA cams
-Comptech header
-Comptech exhaust
-OEM intake with spoon filter
-Skunk2 IM
-370cc RC injectors
-Bronze valve guides
-Skunk2 valves
-skunk2 Titanium retainers
-Mugen Valve springs
about how much power would be expected...and can i get ur opinions on those parts...

truthfully, i think the GS-R is too much car for a beginner driver, not because of it's stock form but the want to modify the car. For your first car you either want A) a car that you can't really modify or B) a car that even after some basic bolt-on's it's still really really slow.
I would say do the basic bolt-ons for the beginning. And when you actually researched and distinguished which path you want to go, save your money and achieve your goals. Don't try to get everything at once and put yourself deep in debt.

toda and skunk2 cams??
its gonna be a lot of money to get to 200hp--all motor, let alone 250!!
those mods you listed all still considered basic "bolt-ons" you could be anywhere from 160-180hp

If you are talking wheel horsepower, you probably want to go turbo. Making that kind of power out of your b18c1 all motor is going to be nearly impossible. In fact, is 300 whp even possible out of a N/A b18c1?
IMO, that is far too much power for someone lacking driving experience.
Also, reading your post of all motor parts... I think you really, really need to do some more research before you even think about begining this project. I am not trying to cut you down, or be an ***, but I am not sure what you are going to do with that extra set of cams on your list... and that is only the begining. As was said, you are going to need a LOT more than that even if you want to make 200 whp.

if you really are thinking about going all motor, spend some time in the all motor forum and learn more about your engine and how you can get the best mods for your car. Always do research first then start buying parts for your car.
