Replacing rear trailing arm bushings?
Has anyone out there replaced the rear trailing arm bushings on their 2g CRX? I have heard they are an absolute pain and that it worth paying to shop to do it. Looking for any feedback, thanks!
it will be a pain in the *** - you need to purchase the whole trailing arm through the dealer (unless you can find one somewhere else from a junkyard that is any good) - since the bushings are not sold separately. and if your crx is anything like mine, you will either need to cut the bolts off that hold the trailing arms in, or you will need to torch them to heat them up enough to get them off - plus you will need to disassemble your drum or disc set-up to get at that part of the trailing arm.
are u gettign aftermarket bushings?, i have replaced all bushings to prothane polyurathene buhsings, its a much stiffer ride but also much more control the only buhsing i didnt replace was the main trailing arm bushings, just because it dint coem withthe kit, those u ahve to get separretly, an di think they are $50 each (there are, one on each) that will cahnge the cars setup by a lot. i can tell the bushings were one of teh most pain in teh *** thigns i have ever done if u dont have acess to a mahine shop i woudl let someone else do this!
It is not supposed to be much fun to replace those. You can buy the poly insert for like 26 for the pair, but you have to resuse all the metal. Or you can buy the whole unit for 120 something for the pair from prothane or 110 for the mugen units. I heard it makes a big difference. Maybe someone can enlighten us......
