ok i want to do a swap and my car and i was thinking of maybe doing ls/vtec since i already have an ls shortblock, but here is my dilema should i just save my money and buy a whole swap or should i just piece together an ls/vtec

 

If you already have a shortblock, build it.

May not go vtec depending on your application. What are you going to use the car to do?

 

sorry i shoulda listed that its goin into a eg hatch and it will be street/strip do u think it will cost more though to buy everything piece by piece or should i just build it and have it the way i want just need opinons

 

For that I'd just throw on a vtec head and grab a gsr tranny or something. I think it would be the most cost effective for you.
