engine swap (civic)
i have a 97civic, hb, o..n i'm a newbie to the honda world, planning on swapping the stock motor to an integ,gsr/(b18c). Would i have to do any body work for it to fit or if i wanted to add in a turbo what are some of the important things that i need to know? any comments, help, guide would be very nice, thx.
I'll be nice. Read this thread and you really should search before you post stuff like this up. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=717612
If you have a 97 civic then your car is OBD 2. If you're going to swap an integra motor into your car then get a 96+ (OBD 2) full swap which should include:
engine
tranny
ecu
shift linkage
starter/alt/ps
then go to http://www.c-speedracing.com and read your *** off in the how-to section.
P.S. talk to "importautosalvage" about getting your swap because although their prices are not the cheapest around, you will find ZERO complaints from them because of thier excellent quality and customer service.
Edit: forgot axles and maybe a couple other things that http://www.importautosalvage.com will not forget as long as your check doesn't bounce!

B18 swap doesnt require any body work to fit in, if your refering to the frame. like the post above, just needs a few replacements and your set. Check the link in my sigs as a second option for JDM motors if your interested in them, great service and great motors. But I'd say look around before purchasing.
the swap wont require body work. it is a very very common swap. just motor mounts and make sure you get it with compatible ecu obd2 so as said before a 96+. i suggest http://www.total-boost.com/?id=15563 i got my h22 their for my accord. great price. real friendly and knowledgeable
Since your in cali, the motor has to be the same year or newer as your car. And you will need to put all the smog parts (cats, sensors) on it. The ref will check all of that
