Default civic awd wagon ???'s

I have a civic wagon right now (non awd) and i have the chance to pick up an awd civic w/ very high milage/blown motor for really cheap. How hard would it be to transfer the awd system over to my current non-awd wagon. Thanks guys.

Probably not very hard except for the part of swapping out the tranny.

The reason I want to do this is not for the reason most of you might think. I actually want it for a practical reason, i work at a ski resort and the drive is generally snowy and icy. I think an awd civic wagon would be great on gas and i can work on them easily. So any help would be appreciated.

Would the rear trailing arm assemblies need to be swapped out? I honestly have no idea how the awd on the civic works, anyone have some under chassis pics of one?

It would be a lot of work. The tranny mounting point for the awd tranny is different the manual one, its similar to an automatic. you can always custom fab but itd probably be easier to swap a new motor into the 4wd and keep the existing tranny, mounts, driveshaft and differential.

check out my website. i converted mine. easier to just get one awd, but depends on how much you like to work on your car. a welder is a requirement. if i was going to go to the trouble again, it would be in something other than the wagon, like a 4dr or crx, jsut to be different.
