Default clutch master cylinder problems...

about two weeks ago my clutch master cylinder went on my 93 del sol and we replaced it with the one out of my boyfriends 93 civic for the time being... Today i went to go out and my clutch was doing the same thing (when you pushed it in, it would stick but you could pop it back out with your foot and it would go into gear) as it did beore it was shot the last time... i know it was replaced with a used clutch master cylinder but when my bf was using it, it didnt appear to cause any problems for him.... just wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if its just bad luck....

and i searched but all i found was how to install and such...

Check to see if your slave cylinder is leaking that could be the cause to your problem I've seen that before.

the slave isnt leaking. u think that the master would go then the slave 500 miles later just like that?

the fluid in the resevoir looks a little dirty, could that be the cause of my problems with the master going bad?

worked on it tonight... popped the hood and the resovoir was empty , but it had to of gone somewhere right? so where is it leaking from? checked everywhere and couldnt find anything. it took two weeks for it to drop to below minimum level.

all the fluid was really dirty, like a dark grey color, i flushed out all the fluid and added new fluid... maybe it is just the slave, is that what happens when they go bad?

follow the clutch line and check all the fittings to make sure it's not leaking at any of those.pull back the boot where the slave cylinder enters the tranny case-look for fluid in the boot or in that area;if it's bad it will be losing fluid by the seals here..if both of these check out, check up under the dash where the clutch rod passes through to the master cylinder and look for fluid-if the M/C were losing fluid i think it should be visible there.
