icebox intake vs. stock intake loudness
how loud is and icebox compared to stock... and also how does it flow? right now i have a cold air intake which works great but i dont like how loud it is anymore. i'm ready for a sleeper.
i must say, i'm with you. thats why i got rid of my aem intake and decided to go w/ an ef8 airbox w/ a drop in K&N. soon, i'm gonna make a cold air pipe for it, and plug up the hole for the resonator. that should quiet it up even more
if you guys are really that worried about how loud an intake is then thats the least of your worries... do you guys wanna be fast or sit around and worry about pointless ****?

have you ever thought that some people want to have fast cars, but dont want to have onboxiously loud cars as well? sure a aem cold air, and a n1 style muffler will make the most amount of power...but driving w/ that and having to deal w/ the boys in blue can be a problem.

but anyway... how much of a noise difference is there? is the icebox still loud? i'll admit i used to like the noise but my fast and furious days are over..... i wanna be able to hustle people cuz i'm still rollin on my stock gsr wheels with skunk 2 valve train and stage 2 cams with ctr pistons running a little over 12 to 1 compression with hondata s200. so if i could get an intake that still flows well and is somewhat quiet that would be the ****. if possible anyway. i really dont care about a 5 hpr loss. i already got my exhaust pretty quiet with a high flow cat and 2.5 inch piping with a glass pack and an s2k muffler.

if you have a dc2, shiet...i'd get a itr air box, those can be had for not too much. drop in a K&N filter. and i know there are some companies out there that make cold air ducting specific to your application, just get that...if not, save a penny or two and make one yourself

I say ITR airbox/drop-in filter also. With the Ice-box, it's still going to be noticably louder, especially at WOT, but no where near as loud as an AEM.

you shouldnt worry about that, no one is Not going to race you if its loud... have you ever heard an intake on a stock like DX motor? those are loud as **** and it doesnt mean a damn thing... you should still get races reguardless of how loud your intake is, i mean it would be different if you were pulling up to race someone with an iceman intake coming out of the head light or something...

A tad louder (WOT) over a stock 1.6L or 1.8L, since there's no resonater on the Icebox.
But not a hella of a difference vs a shortram or J's style intake.
